Maureen Denise McCormick, the sole daughter of Richard McCormick, and Irene McCormick, was born in Woodland Hills California on 5 August 1956. Her father was a schoolteacher while her mother was a stay at home mom. Michael Dennis and Kevin are three of her older brothers. From a young age, McCormick loved to sing and dance, and she would frequently perform puppet shows for youngsters in the area. She won the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley Contest when she was just 6 years old and was approached via Pat Domigan, a talent agent of the Jack Wormser Agency. He asked her if she wanted to be a part of the show business. McCormick's first big job was during 1964, when she appeared in a television commercial featuring Mattels baby doll, Baby Pattaburp. She subsequently starred in the role of Chatty Cathy in a commercial which was later adapted for the show Wind It Up And It's Breaks at The La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch McCormick auditioned to play the oldest daughter in the trio of towheaded girls on The Brady Bunch. The show was a collaboration between Florence Henderson, Robert Reed and a blended family. The show ran for five seasons. McCormick's memoir Heres the Story, Surviving Marcia Brady: Finding My True Voice was released in 2008. The book revealed that McCormick nearly lost her virginity on the set of the series during the fifth season when it was played by Barry Williams. He was 19 years old. She was 16. She said but the timing wasn't right for us.
